01. Studio Services & Scope of Work

The Design Diaries provides comprehensive architectural planning, bespoke residential and commercial interior design, turnkey execution, and landscape styling.

The exact deliverables, milestones, technical specifications, material selections, and timeline for any given commission are formally articulated in a standalone Written Project Proposal / Agreement signed prior to work inception. These general Terms apply conjunctively with any individual project engagement.

02. Consultations, Concepts & Proposals

Initial exploratory discussions provide an overview of your property’s potential and our studio methodology. Any conceptual floor plans, 3D renderings, moodboards, material sample boards, or cost estimates generated during the briefing phase remain the exclusive intellectual property of The Design Diaries until a formal contract is executed and the initial design retainer is disbursed.

03. Professional Fees, Billing & Payment Schedules

All fees for architectural services, interior consultation, and turnkey procurement are outlined in your project proposal:

• Milestone Payments: Work proceeds in defined chronological stages (e.g. Concept Approval, Working Drawings, Civil/Carpentry Rough-in, Finishes & Styling, Final Handover). Each phase requires prompt settlement before proceeding to the subsequent phase.
• Taxes: All quoted rates are exclusive of applicable Indian taxes (GST) unless explicitly indicated otherwise in the commercial quote.
• Order Commitments: Procured custom furnishings, imported lighting, and specialized stone orders require full vendor advance payment prior to factory fabrication.

04. Client Collaboration & Approvals

A successful interior design outcome relies upon seamless collaboration. The client agrees to provide:

• Timely written approvals for drawings, material samples, and procurement schedules.
• Unrestricted, safe physical access to the site for our designers, engineers, and contractors during regular working hours.
• Accurate structural plans, society/building permissions, and utility connectivity (electricity, water) necessary for execution.

05. Vendors, Craftspersons & Material Warranties

The studio partners with highly skilled carpenters, stonemasons, and MEP contractors. While we rigorously supervise quality and adherence to drawings, product warranties (such as hardware, sanitary fixtures, appliances, veneers, and fabrics) are provided directly by their respective manufacturers and vendors. We assist clients in managing manufacturer warranty claims throughout the handover period.

06. Intellectual Property & Creative Rights

All original architectural elevations, 3D renderings, furniture layouts, lighting schemes, and bespoke joinery details created by The Design Diaries remain our intellectual property protected under copyright law. Clients receive a perpetual license to inhabit and utilize the finished interior; however, blueprints and bespoke designs may not be resold, distributed, or repurposed for external construction projects without explicit written licensing.

07. Project Photography & Editorial Media

We reserve the customary studio right to professionally photograph and document completed projects for our portfolio, print monographs, digital journal, and architectural publications. In doing so, we always safeguard client privacy by omitting personal family artifacts, identifying names, or specific unit addresses unless written consent is granted.

08. Project Revisions & Cancellation Terms

Either party may terminate an engagement subject to the terms articulated in the signed project agreement. In the event of early termination, the client remains responsible for all completed design stages, committed contractor expenses, and non-cancellable procurement orders placed prior to the formal notice date.

09. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, The Design Diaries shall not be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from website use or project delays caused by force majeure events, material shortages, or municipal regulation delays. Our aggregate professional liability shall not exceed the professional design fee received for the specific service in dispute.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and all studio engagement agreements shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any legal dispute or arbitration arising hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
